Medical Attention
Oxygen
Passengers are not permitted to carry their own oxygen
supply as carry-on or as checked-in luggage. Skyservice
Airlines will be pleased to provide you with oxygen
during your flight, should you so request.
In order to deliver this service, we need to receive
your request, (directly or through your travel agent)
at least 72 hours prior to the departure of your flight.
You may contact us directly at 1 416 679 8330 or 1 888 571 0094.
Please present the following information:
- A medical certificate from your physician, including
a statement that the passenger requiring this service
can fly without risk to himself/herself and other passengers.
- Your physician's name and contact information.
- The oxygen flow (low or high) and the type of
mask (nasal or canula) required.
Flow Duration
Low flow (2 litres per minute) 6.5 hours
High flow (4 litres per minute) 3 hours
The fee for oxygen use is CDN$50.00 per bottle requested.
This amount is payable at the check-in counter, for
both sectors of your travel, prior to your departure
from Canada.
NOTE: Passengers are permitted to check-in or carry-on
cylinders that have been completely depleted of the
oxygen content. If you choose to transport the empty
oxygen cylinder as your carry-on item, please note that
this must conform to our carry-on baggage size dimensions
of 9x16x20 inches or 23x40x51cms.
Defibrillators
In case of a medical emergency, each Skyservice aircraft
is equipped with a defibrillator on board the aircraft.
Members of our cabin staff are fully trained on the
use of this equipment.
Medical Equipment Medical equipment required for use during the flight may be taken on board with you if the size conforms to our Carry on Baggage size regulations. Your medical equipment must be self-reliant (battery powered). Passengers with medical equipment must be self-reliant or travel with an escort. Skyservice representatives are not trained or responsible for your medical equipment.
All passengers must contact Skyservice at least 72 hours prior to departure if you wish to bring special medical equipment on board. You must present, with your special request, the following information:
- Specifications and type of your medical equipment
- A medical certificate from your physician. This must also include a statement that the patient can fly without risk to self and other passengers
- Size and dimension of your medical equipment. This equipment must conform to our Carry on Baggage size regulations
- Name and telephone number of your physician
Stretchers
Skyservice Airline aircraft are not equipped to transport
passengers on stretchers.
