FAQs

Q. How do I find out the departure or arrival time of my flight or my relative’s flight?
A. Skyservice maintains updated flight arrival and departure information on our flight information line (local 416-679-1273 or toll-free 1-800-701-9448) as well as on the Arrivals/Departures page of our website.

Q. Do I need to reconfirm my flight?
A.
While there is no flight re-confirmation needed, it is extremely important to verify your flight departure time prior to leaving for the airport, if you are within the airport vicinity. If you are traveling long distances for your Skyservice flight, we recommend that you check approximately 4-5 hours prior to your flight’s scheduled departure time. It is a possibility that the flight times may change after you have checked the flight recording due to a variety of reasons. You may verify your flight times by calling our flight information line locally at 416-679-1273 or toll-free 1-800-701-9448 or by visiting the Arrivals/Departures page of this website.

Q. Can I book a seat of my choice in advance?
A.
Skyservice offers advance seat selection at a cost of only $15.00 per person per flight segment.  In order to pre-select your seat, please return to the main page (Book Online) and click on the “seat reservations” button.  Alternately, you may contact your travel agent to book your advanced seat selection.

Q. Can I book a bulkhead or Emergency exit row seat?
A. Emergency exit row seats cannot be pre-booked and are allocated at check-in on a first-come-first-serve basis and are assigned only to able-bodied adults.  Bulkhead seat requests are available on a first come first serve basis for special needs passengers and no fee will be levied for these requests.  Passengers should call 1 888 571 0094 or 416 679 8330 and identify his/herself as a person with special needs.  An agent will be able to discuss specific requirements and passengers may be asked to provide a medical letter supporting their request.  These requests must be received at least 48 hours prior to departure. In the event such a request is not received, a reasonable effort will be made to satisfy the request at the time of check-in.

Q. How early should I check in for my flight?
A.
We recommend that you check in at least 2 hours prior to the departure of your flight. Check-in usually opens 3 hours prior to departure unless otherwise noted and closes 60 minutes prior to departure for all International destinations and Sun destinations and 45 minutes prior to departure for the US. Passengers who arrive after close-out times of flights may be denied boarding.

Q. What documents do I need for travel?
A.
Travelers must present valid and complete documentation for their destination country including passports, citizenship cards, tourist cards, visas where needed etc. Please consult your travel agent.

Q. Travel between Canada and the USA

Skyservice Airlines reminds air travelers that effective January 23, 2007, passengers and crew entering the US by air from Canada will be required to present a valid passport

Q. Why does the airline check my documentation?
A.
The airline's documentation check prior to boarding is for the purpose of ensuring that the airline is not fined for travelers arriving with insufficient/incomplete documentation, and is not intended to be an advisory to passengers. Should passengers be accepted for check-in, yet declined entry into the destination by the local immigration authorities, the airline will not accept liability for related costs. Should the airline not be satisfied with the documentation presented, travelers may be denied boarding.

Q. What can I take as checked baggage? What are the allowed dimensions?
A.
Unless otherwise indicated on your ticket, free baggage allowance on Skyservice flights is usually limited to a maximum of 2 pieces the total combined weight of which should not exceed 20kgs (44 lbs). The total dimensions of checked baggage (length +width + height) should not exceed 158cm for the 1st piece and 139cm for the 2nd piece.

Q. I am traveling with members of my family – can we combine the weight of our bags?
A.
When two or more passengers travelling to the same destination on the same flight present themselves and their baggage for check-in at the same time and place, their maximum free baggage allowance will be the sum of their individual maximum free allowances. However, any bag that exceeds 32kg in weight will not be accepted for check-in.
Eg. Mr. and Mrs. Smith are traveling together. The free baggage allowance is 2 pieces at a total of 20kgs per passenger therefore they are allowed a combined weight of 4 pieces at a total of 40kgs. However Mr. & Mrs. Smith need to ensure that any bag/piece does not weigh more than 32kgs.

Q. What if I exceed my free baggage allowance?
A
. Skyservice enforces the Free Baggage allowance and a charge for excess luggage is levied wherever applicable. Excess baggage is accepted subject to space availability and operational considerations. The rates for excess charges are as follows:
